This is definitely way better than those plastic fasteners. I like the product, seems like good quality.

Always come loose
Good manufacturing quality. However, for whatever reason every time I flip up my hood the nut will loosen slightly. After about every 10 hood flips I need to re-tighten them

I bought these for my husband in December 2018 for his birthday. Hes a welder/fabricator, and he loves them!!! He said they are so much better then the plastic ones 🙂

Works perfect. Maybe a little too perfect. From lifting the hood here and there they become loosened and have a super tight grip. Hard to keep it at the sweet spot. I used some blue loctite to hold it in the sweet spot and they are great. Love the look and feel.

Dont buy these.
Im an Ironworker in Chicago. Plan on your hood falling apart at least once a day and trying to find these parts. There isnt any kind of lock, so every time you flip the hood you have to adjust. 25 years welding btw. If you are an Ironworker brother, pipefitter, boilermaker forget these and stick with the plastic. At least they function right.

These work very good on the old sugar scoop. No more stripping the plastic ones. And if you want your hood fall to be stiff, you can adjust it

Would never stay tight. With every open and close of your welding hood they come loose and become very annoying .

Well i bought the original ones of the guy who originally made them and they felt good. So i decided to try these. Well they fell realy cheap and very fake if thats the way to put it. Im not mad but not satified wish they wouldve been of higher quality for price considering that the originals were the same price

Fine threads for fine adjustment
Great product for my fiber metal shield.

It is what it is.
These are great. The plastic ones on my fiber metal kept stripping out. A little Teflon tape will help make sure they dont back off.

TRASH
Bought these in hopes they would stay tight and hold up. Worked for like a day. I hang my hood back in my truck and head home. Next morning I get back to work and my hoods laying across my backseat. Picked it up and the whole right side has just fell out. One of the pieces I guess went down in my seat. Good thing I had the PLASTIC ONES. Never will buy again.

One of my better inebriated purchases that I didnt remember buying until they showed up lol! Every welding hood Ive had has stripped out at the fasteners but these arent going to strip! I use them with the stock springs and spacers etc. I got the bare aluminum knurled ones and they fit my tigerhood perfectly! I will put a bit of loctite on the threading at some point but yeah! ^_^

Fits fibre metal perfect!!
If you use the fibremetal metal section, it seems to not loosen up. Just installed it today (2-11-22), and will post any updates that need posting. At the start of a nuclear plant outage right now, so I should have a pretty good feel for the quality of these over the next few weeks.

There great if you put some loc tite on the threads if not they loosen up and your hood will go flying.

Not the best but not the worst.
They work but youve got to tighten them up about 40 times a day. They arent the best Ive ever had but better than the standard plastic ones from the weld supply.

Dont get this one
When you flip your hood up and down it will constantly loosen up on you and its aggravating. You can spend the same amount of money on metal knobs with an o-ring built in so it will stop loosening

Im constantly adjusting them because the get too tight and every other 3-4 time they get too lose.
