Tips: Applying oil or grease to the tool protects the tool and makes the job smoother.

1. Remove the Valve Covers, Remove the Rocker arms and Rocker rails.
2. Place the Bottom Aluminum plate on the head where the rocker bolts mounted and place the middle section on top that has the stud and mount it to the head with the 2 supplied bolts make sure the tool is setting in the middle between the 2 valve springs. Hand Tighten using a ratchet and socket. Do not Over tighten you can cause damage to the head if you use a impact.
3. Place the top over the 2 valve springs and install supplied nut. Make sure the stud has grease on it.
4. Before tightening if you are using this on a head that is installed on the engine you will need to use a fitting with compressed air in the spark plug hole to keep the valves pushed close.
5. Slowly tighten the nut down using Hand Tool Only Do not use an impact it will cause the nut to overheat and strip threads!
6. After Compressing the springs you can remove the valve keepers using a magnet this will keep them from falling in the Head.
7. After removing keepers you can reverse the nut and slowly let the pressure off and remove the springs.
8. Install the new springs using the same procedure. Make sure when reinstalling the valve keepers that you get them in place so they will hold properly before releasing the pressure.

Great tool all the negative reviews are simply not using it correctly.
I bought this tool after seeing some of the funny reviews left where people were angry it wouldn’t fit after clearly not removing the rocker and rocker support. You have to remove all the rockers and take off bottom support for this tool to work. I have done 2 heads with this tool and all required was simple hand tools to assemble and a 13mm deepwell socket to use. If you don’t use an impact this tool will outlive all the LS valves you ever want to remove. YES just buy the dang thing and its scary how some of these people are doing cams/valves and can’t even figure out this simple tool with 3 bolts to it. WORTH EVERY PENNY. (No i’m not being paid to say this so don’t worry about that either.)

LS1 valve spring compressor is very good quality. Doesn’t feel cheap and works just fine

Pretty handy tool
Used it to fix a broken valve spring on a avalanche with a 5.3. Took the valve cover off, stuffed every thing with paper towels and just followed the instructions. Worked just fine. Would take a while to do all the valves but if you are out somewhere and need to replace a spring this is definitely the thing to have in your tool box.

Great tool.
I rented a spring tool from local auto store and could not get it to work well. Took me 2 hours to complete 3 springs. I decided to buy this tool and glad it did. Took me 1 hours to get all 13 spring that were left swap out with the original on my heads! Worth every penny!

Good buy
Awesome tool, made job go smooth defiantly worth the money. Threads still in perfect shape. Used ratchet wrench to run compression nut down/off multiple times to do a full set of 16 valve seals on 5.3L vortec. Treat tools with care and they will last a while.

Used to install valve springs on silveraydo
I didnt actually need this tool to install my valve springs because Chuck Norris came over to roundhouse kick the springs down so I could change them. But he had to leave early, so I used this instead.

Does whats intended.
Does the trick

Not very durable
Easy to use and setup but be careful. The stud is not very strong and can strip out. I suggest you grease it up and take it easy. If you have 1 engine to do and dont plan on doing one again, this might be ok. If youre building these at least once a year, then pass to a better quality one.

Works on 241 heads
Works as it should did 241 heads no issues

01 dodge Magnum 5.9
Works for dodge ram. You have to use the factory lifter bolts from your head, the ones that come in the package are not meant for the dodge head. But this was simple and I didnt have to worry about the spring coming apart while putting in the keepers.

Angled all wrong
You cannot get the keepers in or out with the angle it pulls the valve springs. Complete waste of money and time waiting for it to show up.

cf_4201234on September 20, 2021

wrong angle does not work properly don’t waste your money
junk wrong angle does not work properly dont waste your money This is a copy of bluegrass performance made in USA tool this tool is made of thinner materials cheaper hardware.

Great little tool
This thing worked better than I thought it would.
I was amazed it was flawless!

A. Olsenon November 4, 2021

It works, but just barely
The product DID get the job done, but it was a huge headache. The tool is stripped where it mounts to the rocker bolt holes. The biggest issue is that the tool wont compress the springs straight. And since it does two at a time you have to fight two.

Not for LS heads. It will work for small block
?Very good quality. It didnt work on the newer ls 6.2 I was working on because the valve springs are to low but I cut a piece of metal as a spacer and the tool worked great. I was able to do all 16 springs with the heads still on the truck.

Didn’t work on the l83/l86
Bolts bent trying to use. Didnt work for the l83/l86 maybe it works for an ls based engine. Idk. Didnt work for me. Get the oreilly rental instead

Works as is should
Worked great changing out my valve springs
Only complaint is the long bolt used to compress the springs had trouble threading into the black plate

Super easy to use
Extremely easy to use and makes the task a lot faster to accomplish. Highly recommend, I bought 2 so I can do 4 springs at a time haha

Jmejia712on April 11, 2022

Works all right
Works on 4.8 and 5.3 LS. Both photos are wrong though. Aluminum spacer should be near cylinder head. Use lots of wd40 or whatever. Good for a couple of times, more is your lucky. Threads are weak. Would be better in stainless.

Brent G.on May 8, 2022

Must have tool
This thing made replacing my valve springs a breeze. Easy to use and very strong.

Rick Knuthon May 12, 2022

Works great if you pay attention
Tried and tried to get it to work but I couldnt get the right angle to compress the valve springs. After fiddling with it I found out that the “top” marker had been put on the wrong side. After flipping it around the tool worked pretty well. Even with lubing the threads Im not sure if it would last more than a handful of times but for the price its more than fair.
