T-6061 is made of aluminum, which conducts heat quickly. Achieve the effect of rapid heat dissipation. It can be used for a long time, as T-6061 aluminum is the best material for coolers.
The thick of the cooler is about 1.27 which can better increase the flow limit and speeds up the cooling effect of the oil.
The 13 fins can quickly cool the oil and increase the airflow restriction. The cooling effect can be as high as 30%-40%

Note: Please pay attention to protecting the transmission cooler when installing, because it is made of aluminum, you may damage it inadvertently.

Package:

Best on market
I purchased this product to install in a 2500hd silverado. Install went easy, they give you plenty hardware to help with the installation. The transmission is running so much colder it id great cant wait to see how it is when i have my camper hooked to it. I would buy this
product again.

Great product.
I installed this Trans cooler on my 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP. I was getting Transmission temps of around 200 degrees on hot days and when I was driving hard. Daily driving/highway would get up to around 180-190. I bypassed the factory cooler and installed the Trucool as a stand alone. Decrease in temperatures was drastic. Normal temps now are around 130-140 and only ever got to 190 when I was racing the car at the track. Highly recommend this Transmission cooler. My only suggestion would be to install with metal AN fittings to ensure you don’t blow a fluid line in high pressure applications.

Cooler
I’ve used these coolers for years on cars and trucks of all types and sizes. This cooler does a fantastic job. It’s Low Pressure drop makes it great for trucks and cars. Low Pressure drop means it has less restriction to flow and exposes more cooler surface area to the hot fluid.

Cheap insurance for a very expensive piece of detrimental equipment
Brought this for my silverado 1500. Built trans, few billet internal parts, clutches, carbon band, sonnax drum, sonnax servo, hd2 shift kit. Plus more, and a 10in 3800 stall converter. So heat is enemy. Purchased this to keep the temps down. So far so good. I only needed the bolts and nuts and like 4 screws from the kit. I purchased the trans line compression fittings from napa. Used my stock lines, did not bypass radiator. Used the brackets in the kit and bent them in a vise according to how i needed them. Definitely a good $120 piece of insurance for a $2400 transmission

Awesome cooler!
My truck is running like 30-40 degrees cooler now towing my boat. It was overheating heating the tranny before and now with the cooler it¡¯s very happy. My boat is around 6500-7k pounds. The kit was easy to install and came with everything you need to install. My truck is a 2010 GMC Sierra. Temp towing is around 175 degrees. 135-140 temp driving around town empty. Huge difference. Truck got up to 221 temp on tranny towing and I had to pull over. I have 2800 stall/torque converter. LS2 6.0 motor

Great cooler, I think.
I haven’t installed this yet because it goes in an extensive build of a 1939 Ford. It is a monster cooler will a real quality look to it. Price was great, reviews were great. I think this cooler will exceed my expectations which are extremely high. Very pleased.

Huge and efficient cooler
I bought this cooler for my 2009 Chevy Cobalt LT, I used Hayden mounting tie rods to mount it to the ac condenser. Install was straight forward and once on the car it dropped temps by 40-50 degrees on average which is absolutely awesome. I went from seeing temps as high as 226¡ãF on stop and go and 190¡ãF during hwy cruising too 180¡ãF in heavy traffic and 126¡ãF while cruisng.

Excellent Product
Well constructed and easy to install. Used 3/8 steel tubing with flare nuts (5/8 thread) sourced from local auto parts store. Installed with ports oriented up to ensure complete fluid fill to maximize efficient heat transfer. Excellent quality and lifetime warranty.

Must Have for Towing!!
I installed this on a 2008 Silverado LT 5.3L. It is 3 times as big as the stock cooler! I used a 3/8 Brass coupler on the left line. This allowed me to spin it the opposite direction. The Right line will reach, you just have to cut away some of the rubber splash guard below the radiator. Simply thread these connectors (ACDelco 19130039 GM Original Equipment Automatic Transmission Fluid Cooler Line Connector) into the Tru-Cool cooler and your stock tranny lines, snap right in! I had to drill a couple of holes in the support and cut down a couple of the supplied braces, but overall I installed this in about an hour! I just installed it (March) so I have not experienced the massive drop I expect in the summer. But I can tell my Trans is already running cooler!

Awesome
I have it on my 2007 Silverado z-71 My temps were at 190¡ãF on a 4L60E 232,000 miles so I put this on and immediately dropped to 135¡ãF in city and 155¡ãF on highway my MPG also went up in guessing since I did a tranny flush aswell .. everything is going smooth I love this product and recomend to any one!!!! Is you have a 07-13 Silverado or GMC it’s a must that you purchase a trans cooler connector if you use original tranny lines

It is worth the investment. Buy it right NOW!!!
My trans in my 08 silverado runs 30 degrees cooler and fit perfectly with minor mods to the grill mount because I also installed 2 – 6 inch fans and have not needed them. These pictures show the difference between the 1/2″ waste of time OEM cooler installed by chev VS the Trans-cool.

Outstanding
This trans cooler is truly outstanding I put this on my 1500 Sierra to pull my new trailer. When towing on flat with very little grade it will run in the 130s which is great but what really impressed me was when I pull a big grade the temp runs in the 150s which in the pass it run in the 180s to 190s with trailer that weighed 1/2 as much. This is a big cooler but it fit very nice and is a great deal for what you get. I would definitely recommend this trans cooler.

Tru cool max is the correct name for this trans cooler!
Installed in my 05 Escalade and dropped trans temp 60 degrees!! Trans temp was running 200 degrees with oem cooler now I have to push it to for temp gauge to rise to 140!!! Bought it so I can pull my 6,000 lb boat with no worries!! Great cooler! The only thing I did to modify the hardware sent with the cooler is I drilled out the hose barbed fittings with a 1/4 inch drill bit in a drill press cause they looked like they would have been lots of restriction with fluid traveling through them! Very clean install!! Buy with no doubt in your mind that this cooler will preform as advertised!

Cheap, easy to install, works fantastic!
Put one in my 02 silverado in preparation for the 3000 stall converter. Haven’t put the converter in yet, but I’m running 50 degrees cooler on the highway! That’s with doing away with the factory aux tranny cooler and using only the in-radiator and the 40k!

Great cooler ! Nice quality
If you have the space, this is a great cooler, nice quality , great price & comes with everything you need. I replaced my previous factory aux cooler and an additional 15k cooler (2 coolers) with this one and My average trans temp dropped approx another 15F .. (95F ambient) average normal operating temps with stock cooler was approx 190F , with an added 20k cooler and retaining the factory dropped to approx 175F and now with both replaced by this one, approx 155-160F cools the trans fluid a lot faster after a long uphill Run etc than previously. So far haven¡¯t gotten it above 205F loaded and uphill whereas previously I reached 225F plus. I actually noticed my engine coolant temps average has dropped from 195F to 190-191F (95F ambient since installing it as well, perhaps it lowered trans fluid temps going in enough to take some stress off of radiator.? I had to do a couple of mods to fit it but it turned out great and it came with everything I needed to install it. Overall I¡¯m very happy with it. I just ordered the bypass valve and will try it without the radiator to see what happens.

Does everything it advertises
I drive a 2006 gmc Denali 6. 0 vortex engine an pull a 28 ft Jayco travel trailer 7000 lbs I just installed cooler transmission temp going up and over mountain pass has dropped to 170 deg from 210 before cooler was easy install wall worth investment

duglas asencioon March 10, 2021

Nice product
The cooler came as it was described with all the hardware for a factory connection. However, it would be nice to be able to have the option of ordering the correct AN fittings at time of order. If you plan on changing out your factory transmission lines along with the cooler you will need aftermarket AN fittings to go along with the new transmission lines that have AN fittings installed on them. Those brass fittings that come with the cooler will not fit the AN fittings. I gave the cooler 3 stars for this reason. Would have given 5 stars if the cooler had the option to order the AN fittings.
