Mostly worked like it was intended to.
Got this for my Taco truck. the valve and hose are a good idea in theory but it just didnt drain quite enough to not still make a mess taking the filter housing off. I will still use it as it is much better than just shoving the drain thing in there and taking an oil bath. Filter remover fits perfectly. If I had all day, I could have just left the drain until it emptied but it was enough that I didnt get soaked in dirty oil. Maybe more than a few minutes would have given better results. Still good though. To be fair, they have the housing tool at most auto parts stores and I am considering a length of heater hose and the filter provided drain next time just to see.
