2005 Honda Civic
Amazing and saved me $400. Just YouTube on how to get lock cylinder out and be sure to transfer transponder chip from old key to new one. Overall easy install. Took about an hour.

Jason Dykemaon September 3, 2018

It worked!
I had to replace the locking ignition cylinder on my 2004 Honda Civic coupe and got this one and installed it in maybe 10 minutes and the car works like new again. I did manage to change the key chips from the old keys to the new ignition keys in about 1 hour and saved me at least several hundred dollars doing this repair this way. Heads up, it does not include the ignition pin to keep it really in place. What I had to do was make sure I put all 4 screws back on the ignition key unit to make sure it stays in place and that works good. 5 stars.

Perfect for the money
Worked out well except for the chip slot cover needed to be modified a bit .
In order for it to close .
I also filled in the slot with silicone to avoid the chip from falling out and placed the cover over it

Cant go wrong for the price.
Worked great on my Honda Civic 2003
Dealer wanted almost 450.00 with programing a key. Took out the old cylinder and cut out the chip from my old key. The keys come with a cover to put on after inserting the chip. My chip wasnt a flat one but a round cylinder type but fit the new key anyway. Turned the key and started up with no issues. I was lucky with getting out the roll pin from my old cylinder it just fell out with a little tap so that saved me some time.

Fast and easy fix! No reprogramming keys!
My 2006 Odyssey wouldnt start because the key just would not turn. For a few weeks we could jiggle the key or wheel and get it to start, but finally it was just done. I did not want to replace the entire assembly, and definitely did not want to pay a dealer to reprogram keys. This was the perfect solution. Its a pain to take apart all the screws to get to the one part that needs to be swapped out, but not difficult. The old part pops out, and this one goes in. We used an angle grinder, wire cutters, and a small screwdriver to get the chip out of the old Honda key. The only difficulty was getting the little door on the new key to snap shut. As some others noted, its not a great fit. A little silicone fixes the issue and does not stop the ignition from recognizing the chip. Im thrilled with the easy fix and the price.

A little tricky on install but went well overall.
I had to change the cylinder on my Honda Fit because I could not get the key to turn anymore. The dealer wanted over a $1000 to do the job. Its pretty easy on the Honda fit except there is one screw that is hard to get too. You have to remove the wiper switch to access then you have to use a socket wrench with Phillips bit to pull it out. There several kits you can buy to remove the roll pin but it is pretty easy to just drill a hole so you can scrape it out with a screw driver (see YouTube for this). I had some old keys that still had the chips that I transferred but I had changed the programming since then so I had to spend $120 to have someone come by and reprogram the chips. Still better than $1000. I dont think you can transfer the chip off a wireless key. Great way to save money overall.

Perfect fit for Cross tour
If you have any mechanical ability easy peazy.
To remove chip follow these easy steps & you will have just saved yourself a couple of hundred $$$
Take a pair of wire cutters & cut top off of key just below hoop.
Snip down both sides & on the bottom exposing metal key.
Take a razor blade & slide down from top on both sides creating just an slight opening.
Take small flat head & pry away from key enough to grab with cutters & twist away from key.
Do same on other side.
This will expose the clear plastic holder for chip. Pop out from key & snip a piece away to pry chip out.
You do not have to be that gentle when cutting plastic away. It was easier to use cutters than getting my Dremel out.
It took me longer to type this than it did to get chip out of old key.
10 minutes max to remove chip. Took me a half hour to swap out key assembly. I did this for a friend & I am 70 years old.
Hope this helps you & be safe mates

Excellent Solution for Sticking or Locked Key Problem
So overall the job wasnt too bad I ended up removing the entire lock assembly so it was easier to remove the tumbler. Really the biggest issue was the cover that keeps the chip in the key. I tried using some silicone to hold it in place but I still wasnt happy with it so I came up with another idea that worked pretty well.

I bought some of key sleeves that shrink to size with heat to use as a band to keep the cover on. If you search for “”KEY-WRITE”” you should be able to find them. The band was not big enough though so I ended up stretching it some more before I could get over the key head. Once in place I just used indirect heat from a lighter and it shrunk tightly around the key. Check out the pictures I attached hopefully this helps someone else.

A. Rushon July 21, 2021

Works good but poor build quality
It does the job but its got very poorly build parts. The plastic part on the key where you stick the security chip has to be shaved down alot to even work. It does save you a couple hundred bucks but it does require some skill and knowledge to get the old ignition cylinder out

Daniel H.on August 22, 2021

A great deal!
Fits exactly like the original. The key blanks have a cavity to transfer the immobilizer chip into. The cover for the immobilizer cavity doesnt snap securely on, so plan to use some adhesive. I used Goop Marine, but any silicone or RTV should work. It doesnt come with H decals, like most others do. For the price, this is an awesome deal.

Element 03 tested replacement
I was a bit hesitant to order this at first, because the gap of price between a locksmith. My original cylinder would not turn and swapping this did the job. Very easy install and the only tough part was getting the transponder from the original key. The transponder latch did close but when my dropped my keys once it did open and the transponder fell out. So I glued it in order to prevent a terrible accident and have to get a locksmith out to me.
Over all though My 03 Element is back to working condition.

Joseon September 19, 2021

Works great for jammed ignition
Worked great for my 2006 civic. You will need take the new key and have it cut on a key fob blank ($28 at ace hardware) then transfer the electronics from original key fobs over due to security chip.

Worked perfectly in our 2005 Civic. Swapping the chip out was the hardest part, but with a Dremel tool it only took about 10 minutes.

Buy this instead of paying someone to do it
If you dont want to spent a lot of unnecessary money this is the best. Saved me from spending $600 to change the ignition switch cylinder it was so easy to install. And the easiest part was just to change the chip from the old key to the new one and all I payed was $22 vs $600

Not a fualt of the part, but could not turn key once installed. When removed it worked fine, but when installed it would not turn. Had to remove entire locking mechanism and get help. The column lock button had to be pressed way in first before it would work correctly. All is good now.

2003 Honda Accord
The old key would not turn the ignition almost like it was the wrong key. So took apart the steering column, pulled out the ignition module and install this new key cylinder. Had to get the security chip from the old key and put in the new key. I siliconed the chip in the new key. 1 hour total from old cylinder to new cylinder and running.
Hard to believe you can change a part like this at such a low cost and it works well. Comes with 2 new keys also.

Worked exactly as described
I have a 2004 Honda CR-V with anti theft module and my key cylinder failed. A new housing is about $300 so I gave this cylinder a shot to save some money. Worked exactly as describe, no programming needed, chip transfer was easy (transferred Honda logo to new key, looks original). Great product!

Martin S.on June 26, 2022

Worked like a charm!
2002 Honda CR-V: key became stuck in ignition cylinder; couldnt operate vehicle.

New ignition assembly was going to cost between $700 and $1000! Searched the internet and found this ignition cylinder by 3mirrors. It just sounded too good to be true, so (thinking I was probably throwing my money away) I ordered it.

I removed the entire ignition assembly from the steering column. Then I removed the chip-reader components (two black plastic parts on the “key end” of assembly). Using the old key still trapped in the cylinder, I pulled the old cylinder out of the assembly. I inserted a new key into the new cylinder and slid it into the assembly. To my utter astonishment, it snapped right into place! A perfect fit!

I then cut my old key open and removed the chip from it. I loaded the chip into the new key. I re-attached the ignition assembly to the steering column, re-connected all the wires, and the car started right up!

I couldnt be happier with this product! It saved me a bunch of money!

A couple of hints:

1) There are several videos on YouTube describing this repair. Although they may not be working on your specific model/year Honda, they can be a great help for someone who has never pulled an ignition assembly. Utilize this help.

2) Most of these ignition assemblies are secured to the steering column with security bolts (the heads break off at installation). Use a dremel tool to cut slots in the tops of these bolts, then you can remove them with a plain screwdriver. Replace them with bolts of the same thread pattern an length.

3) It is easiest to perform this repair by pulling the entire ignition assembly out of the car. When doing so, you must diconnect several electrical connectors. DO NOT MESS WITH YELLOW CONNECTORS! They are part of your airbag system and do not connect to the ignition assembly. Also, it is best to disconnect the negative lead from the cars battery before beginning this repair.

4) The only adjustment I had to make was re-aligning the ignition switch (white component at the opposite end of assembly from key-side). This required removing it, making sure it was aligned well, and re-attaching it.

I hope this helps!

Kevinon July 7, 2022

I watched a youtube video and repeated the process on my car.
The hardest part is splitting open your old key to get the transponder out. It was easy for me because I own a vise, a chisel and a hammer. Easy project, took a couple hours, would recommend. FYI: I own a 2003 Honda Civic EX sedan.

Jason Mainon July 21, 2022

Great price fast delivery, you can save a lot by doing this yourself.
If you can get the old cylinder out then you can get the new one in. Its not not easy, if you havent done it before. Same with the sensor, if you can get the old sensor out then you canl put it in the new key. But the product was a good good price with fast delivery. The job can be tricky.

JohnCoreyon July 22, 2022

Cut out the start resistor in the old key and put it in the new key
Change out the arm it could be different than yours real easy and a resistor from the old key and put it into the new key silicone in place Id cap on

EDon August 1, 2022

Works, but cant put the cover back on the key
My original key for my 2007 Honda Civic would no longer go into the ignition(we think a pin might very broken). Therefore, we took the whole thing out to start my car with a screw driver to get it back home, but due to the theft security it wouldnt work. (We managed to glitch the system for it to turn on once and bring it home thank god)

All this to say I needed a new ignition with a key that the chip could be placed in and this was perfect. The downside about this is that it took a long time to receive my order about 2-3 weeks. And as it said it should, the chip didnt fit in the box properly, we couldnt close it. But with some help with other reviews, duck tape did the job to hold it together and it worked.
