I ordered this dipstick not knowing for sure if it would be the right one for my 2018 Audi A5 with the 2.0 L turbo (who knew they dont come with dipsticks anymore…). The product description doesnt give accurate dimensions so I took a chance by ordering it. It fits perfect and is the correct length with the appropriate MIN/MAX markings. It agrees with my electronic oil level display in the car. To make it easier for others, I measured the dipstick for reference. The diameter at the top with the o-ring that seats in the dipstick tube is 13 mm diameter. Overall length is 21-5/16″. MIN mark is 20-3/4″. MAX mark is 19-15/16″. All dimensions are from the surface plane of the dipstick where it seats on top of the dipstick tube. The handle sticks up 2-5/8″ from the seating plane. On my A5 that still leaves 1″ clearance to the top of the dipstick handle when the hood is fully closed and latched.

Fits my 2012 A4 Quattro TFSI 2.0T S-line wagon
This dipstick is what I wish was stock on my A4. To me, a good ol dipstick is way more reliable and precise than messing around with buttons in my car in order to get an oil level. I open the hood and check the the dipstick – done. No, there is not an APP for that, and this suits me just fine. The hood does seem to come close to yellow loop on top of the dipstick when closed but there is adequate clearance. Note that the dipstick level seems to match the electronic level quite, however I did not check the full range as yet. I hope modern engines return to old-school dipsticks right up until we only need to measure fluid levels in our electric cars.

Does not fit under the hood of my 2012 A4 2.0T. I believe you will have this problem will all dipstick you can find. I did cut the ring with a saw and polished it. Easy to fix… Quality is OK.

Works with a 2011 Audi A5 Convertible.
This is such a relief, to finally get a normal, simple, accurate, means of checking the oil level. It seems accurate, so far testing at the full level (whereby the stupid screen display doesnt indicate if you might be a little TOO full).
This is being used on an Audi A5 convertible, 2T, 2011.
I love the most recent new car I bought, a 2017 Accord… it came with a real oil dipstick, a real trans fluid dipstick, a real handbrake, a spare wheel, a CD player, no CVT, no turbo (its a V6), and the car doesnt slam to a halt if you open the door while reversing. The only downside is keyless entry.

The oil level should be checked often. Much easier with a dipstick
Recommend it for an Audi without a stock dipstick.

Excellent fit for my 2014 Audi A4 that has the 2.0L with turbo. Since it is digital readout for oil level, I wasnt going to trust that so I bought this product and guess what, its absolutely worth it.

2012 Q5 Perfect Fit
I was tired of trying to rely on the electronic oil level system. Come on Audi, saving a dollar by not putting in a real dip stick? This stick fit perfectly and seems to be calibrated right based on the electronic system. Now that I have over 100K on the 2.0T it is starting to drink some oil so it is really important to be able to check levels when cold, now I can do it!

For the money I think this dipstick is great. Does it agree with the electronic oil level? No, but with a small file I added my own marks. For the record this is a 2017 Audi A4 Quattro premium with the 2.0 Turbo

This product is junk. It is not made like original part, which uses a thin flexible rod with a rectangular piece at the end with markings for reading level. This product is made of a flat strip of spring steel. This would be OK except that the strip is too wide to fit into the dipstick tube!

Never would have thought a car would not come with one until I bought my Audi. Works as advertised. The eye is a little to tall. Not a big deal though. Just made a slight indention in the insulation in the hood.

Worked perfectly on my 2015 Q5 2.0. It agreed with the built-in sensor. Now I dont have to warm the engine and wait for an accurate reading.

It seems to be too long for my 2018 A4 allroad 2.0.

Perfect fit, as described, for my 2012 Audi A4. Its been so frustrating to be forced to have to go to the dealer and now I can actually check my oil level at home.

This is the oil dipstick Audi should have included with the car!
It fits perfectly and measures the oil level accurately, as far as I can tell. Is that too much to ask of Audi to include with the car when purchased?

Ill check with Audi to see if its accurate. The electronic sensor reads low but this old fashioned dipstick (not included by Audi) reads normal.
No problem interfering with hood closing on this car.

A car with less than 8000 miles should not burn oil…. but then an Audi might.

Very inexpensive and does the trick when you simply dont feel comfortable relying on the MMI, especially when it has lied to you about the level in the past. Not sure why Audi didnt put one of these in as a backup, but so glad to have purchased it here. Lets just say, in the past, the MMI said less than 1 qt left (low) when it was actually full. I barely put in 1qt to get me to the shop when bam!! smoke everywhere from overfilling. Thank goodness the shop took care of it free under warranty. Anyhow if you have an Audi, you NEED this. For reference- mine is a 2013 A4 2.0T and I didnt have to modify the top perfect fit.

Just what I wanted
I prefer a dip stick (or both) and this product was perfect. You do need to cut 1/2 the dip stick ring to have it fit under the hood. It still works fine.

I have a 2009 Audi A4 2.0t and it doesnt come with oil dipstick from factory, just a little plug. I removed the plug and the dip stick fit without issues. I did an oil change same day and I added 5quarts of oil (requires 4.9qts) after I ran the car a couple minutes and let it cool, I checked the dipstick and it was spot on.

Used on my 2016 Audi Q5 which does not have a dipstick. It matches the electronic oil level showing on the screen. I can now check the oil level manually and actually see the condition of the oil. NICE!!!!!

B9 Audi A4
I wanted an actual dipstick for my wifes 2017 Audi. It works great. The only thing Ill say is it DOES rub/touch the sound insulation on the hood when you close it. No big deal really but I wasnt content. I heated up the plastic ring with a torch and flattened it a bit. Voila! Perfect.

Fits 2013 Audi A4, with slight modification.
Product is correct length for my 2013 Audi A4. Just needed to snip off the top half of the finger ring, because otherwise it interferes with the hood closing properly (and would otherwise likely be damaged with hood fully closed). Nice to have a way to confirm oil level in the car now, rather than depend on an electronic guage.

Perfect fit to replace the dipstick plug
Worked great to replaced that stupid plug Audi gives you in the end of the dipstick tube. Cant remember what year Audi A4 I was working on, but I entered the OE part number in a google search. Bought it here for a third of the dealer cost and got to me sooner than the dealer would have. I watched a couple u-tube videos which said you need to cut part of the finger loop you use to pull the stick out for hood clearance, but I found it wasnt necessary.

cheap fix for people that hate electronic oil level
This stick fit perfectly on my 2015 A4 2.0 TFSI. The hood closes fine with it as well. The level reads and coincides with the electronic one perfectly and it seals and snaps in to the oil stick opening properly too. Good buy.

Good sturdy oil dipstick that easily slides in place perfectly. When I checked oil in Audi B8.5 right after change it appears that the markings seemed a bit on the higher side of Max. Thats better than on the lower I guess. Stay tuned…

So good news, it fits. It also seems pretty accurate, and its cheap. It agreed with my MMI, which evidently couldnt tell me that I was slightly overfilled. My only issue is that the locking tabs that hold it to the dip tube face the flats of the metal. When you insert this so that the stick can bend to the contours of the tube you wont be able to give this stick a 90 degree turn to lock the handle. it turns back so that the locking tabs are at the point where they can slip back off the tube. the locking tabs should be 90 degrees from where they are b/c its easy enough to temporarily align when using, but the shape of the stick would pull back to a locked position.

I was a bit upset when I first discovered my Audi A4 B9 didnt have a dip stick but was extremely happy with the purchase of this dipstick! Looks good, feels good and tells me everything I need in order to ensure that my oil levels are accurate & where it needs to be!

B8 A4 2.0T Service Dipstick
Great dipstick with accurate readings.

I use this as a service tool for oil changes on all my B8 A4, A5, A6, Q5 etc 2.0T customers. I also have a permanent one in my personal car thats been trimmed. You need to cut off the yellow ring in order to keep your hood insulation from getting damaged on some models, if you choose to make it permanent.

Ive sold several of these to customers whos hood switches are broken.

Tip : If your MMI never registers an oil level, your hood latch switch might be broken. The MMI will not read your oil level unless it sees the hood has been opened and closed for service. This dipstick is a quick work around for those not getting an accurate reading on the MMI.

If you have A4 B8 get this!
Everything looks and works as desired. Now I dont have to rely on electronic screen or wait for update looking at the message telling me that the oil level is not available at this time!
