Great product, Instructions need updated.
I ran into the same issue with fit and latching. But was able solve the issues w/o damaging the console lid or need to remove the lower pad.
1st Unscrew and removed the armrest. Install the lower pad and safe will drop right in. Bolt in place. Reinstall the console lid.
2nd Remove the console lid latch. (2screws). Add two small washers to each screw between the latch and latch cover. Tighten the screws and close the lid. It should latch as designed. Hope this will help everyone.
The reason for “4” stars: Manufacturer needs to update instructions with pictures to avoid frustration with installation.

Superb Quality!
The item arrived well packed and secure, and upon inspection, I am really pleased with this purchase for the following reason:
– the quality of the paint coating is excellent! I can see the item outlasting the truck itself.
-thickness of the item is safe vault quality indeed, it was built and designed to secure valuables
-for the pricing side, this ones totally unbeatable: this safe can rival those 2-3x more expensive that are available in the market today, both OEM and branded aftermarket names
-retained the usb charge capability of the console, really innovative! It even has its own lighting inside!

I highly recommend this to fellow Tacoma enthusiasts, specially to those who CCW.

Heavy Duty
For the price I was impressed. Heavy and well constructed. Would take more time to break into than most thieves will bother with. Much cheaper than the factory option.

Not a good fit. I did scratch the console of my New 2022 Tacoma
I didnt fit. I wouldve had to take of the cover/lid of the console in order to make it fit. This wasnt disclosed in the instructions or when purchasing the product. It left a big scratch inside the console of my new 2022 Tacoma. Not recommended. I replaced it with an OEM safe.

3mirrors Center Console Safe
The safe is very heavy duty. I spent 75 cents on a couple of nylon washers to lower the latch on the center console and it works great! I would recommend to anyone with a Tacoma!

Awesome quality for the price
I have a 3rd gen Taco and I was about to pull the trigger on either a console vault or OEM lock box but found this. I figured why the hell not! Im glad I did as the price point on this thing was less than have of its competition. I was surprised at the weight of the box when it arrived. The metal on this is thick! Install was a breeze, BUT removing the inner part of the console lid helped out tremendously. Its not in the instructions but you may find it hard dropping the thing in. Its got the cutout so you can still utilize the power and the LED is a great addition.

Good valve with small problems
Ok first another review pointed out how tight a fit this is in a 2022 Tacoma. Its right, while it fits nice once installed is very difficult to get in place and scratched up the console and lid on the inside.
Second on my Tacoma if you installed the 2 holed rubber mat under the safe I could not close the console lid which required pulling the safe out and scratching things up a little more. After removing the pad this the cover did latch.
Third the combo latch that came with unit would not lock (tumblers would not move) in the closed position. I was instructed the take the latch apart and put it back together which helped but it still worked intermittently, I replaced it with a higher end combo replacement latch and am happy with that now. The replacement latch was $20
Last I noticed this morning that the light worked backwards; the light comes on when the lid is closed.
With all that said the safe body is made well and the money savings is there. I guess I would recommend this to certain people who want to save a little money and have the know how to make things work.
