O-ring getting cut on installation
So I saw many other barbells without the inner o-ring just like the factory has so I thought I would try this one out. I’m a 20 year mechanic and build engine as a hobby and also like to TRY new things and parts. this being one of them. And so I tried this one. My thoughts. The barbell goes in just fine WITHOUT the o-ring. As the instructions say not all gm oil passages are the same. As a 20 year GM and LS tech I can say this is very true. there is core shift, drill size, configuration and even location that have all been changed over the years. so After making sure it fits nice without the o-ring I tried with it and the o-ring gets hung up from how the galley was drilled. my LM7 oil main was drilled to the side of the oil filter galleys so it made it almost impossible to set ths barbell in without cutting the o-ring. I tried 2 and both cut. the only way I could think to make it fit proper was to burr all the sharp edges to where it wont bind and cut. I was not going to put metal shavings in a clean block that didn’t really need it in the first place.

so why did I give it a 2 star. well the part is sound and sturdy. and for that review I read of that guy that bent his wow. I put a small pry bar on mine and its still straight. but the o-ring kept getting cut and there could be better instructions of how to prevent that or even a better install video. also I could not use it without as is. as far as the part goes itself it is well crafted and it will work as long as you have the knowledge and know how to get the job done. that’s why it gets 2 stars from me.

Perfect fit in my lm7
I found this to be an awesome little set. The diverter fit perfectly in my lm7. used a plastic screwdriver handle to lightly tap it in. The oil galley plug was very nice also. I especially like the bolt and spacer for the oil pickup tube. Awesome insurance for a performance build. Wonder why GM never used two bolts. The holes are already in the oil pump? Im glad someone thought of this! I Plan on buying this set again only from a cheaper source this time. My bids are already in. Keep up the good work three mirrors!

Fits well but…
Would be nice to have even some basic instructions with it. There are extra parts in the bag that I assume are to remove the main parts if needed.. No idea really.

Doesnt fit, but easy to modify to fit.
Did not fit in my 2004 LM7 LQ4 5.3 engine. The instructions state if it doesnt fit that you can lightly sand it down to 1/4-20th so that it clears. I had do use 400 grit sand paper and spin sand it a few times to get it to clear.

Get something else, but it can be made to fit
1999-2001 LQ4 block, I dont know the exact date. It doesnt fit, not even talking about the o-rings, Im talking about the aluminum part itself. Being the stubborn person I am, I managed to hammer it in, very carefully. The barbell started to bend towards the end, so I had to proceed very carefully. I was then worried about if the o-ring ripped, so I blew some air through the gallery and it seemed to hold. I used my inspection camera to make sure the thin middle part didnt buckle, and it didnt, but I did see, I pushed it too far in.

I was able to fit a 1/4-20 bolt in the hole, and really pressing my luck, pull it out to about even with the block. I used my inspection camera as a guide.

All in all, it works, but I bought it too long ago to return, so I made it work. Dont do that to yourself, spend a few more dollars and buy a good one.

Finally got around to putting the motor together and this barbell was too tight to fit in the oil passage. I know its supposed to be a tight fit so I tried to tap on it a little to go in and it ended up going in a 1/4″ and got stuck. It was hard to get it back out… it will definitely need some sanding down to fit in the bore.

Well machined and tight tolerances
Fit like a glove, with a little light persuasion. I installed with some light taps of a rubber mallet and it went in smoothly. Was skeptical due to other reviews but I knew I could sand it down if needed but did not need to. If you try to do it by hand it will go in maybe an 1/8th inch but then snug up. If this bothers you then sand away but it will only need some light taps to help it the rest of the way. I also lubed the hole and barbell to help. Oil pick up tube hold down works well too. Exactly as needed.

Super fun way to ruin a new oil pump!
I bought this for the barbell which, so far so good.. BUT dont use the bolt that comes with it to “clamp” the pickup tube into the pump. It will snap before you even get close to torque specs, and will infuriate you.

Had to sand down to fit in a 2002 lq4
The oil plug fit perfectly for the front. But the back oil barbel i had to sand down unfortunately. A good drink, a bolt, a drill, and sandpaper problem solved
