Super smooth
The new clutch went on smooth and operates super quit now. I only really needed the clutch but decided to replace the whole assembly. I’m glad I did because of how great the matching assembly operates.

fits and works
Fit the OE compressor on my 06 Tacoma as described. The positive wire terminal, however, did not fit as the diameter was smaller than the original. Length was exact. No biggie though I just crimped the female plug a bit and it worked fine.

Don’t buy!!
DO NOT BUY!!! This turned what was already a difficult job into an absolute nightmare. I spent the extra money and went with this product because it had good ratings (I have no idea how) and Because it was uaranteed?to fit on the vin I entered for my 2014 Tacoma. The magnet, pulley, and pressure plate all fit, but that was it. The inner snap ring was too big (unbeknownst to me at the time, which led to the ultimate failure). The outer snap ring was too small (which was ok in the grand scheme of things because I just used the old one) and they only sent me one spacer that didn even fit in the hub of the pressure plate. I tried using the three spacers from the old clutch but still couldn get the proper gap. Spent a solid three hours visiting every auto and hardware store before I finally was able to find a washer I could make work. Finally got everything together and working, and was pretty bummed when the noise I was trying to eliminate was replaced by a new one. Long story short drove my truck less than 10 miles before my ac stopped working. Took a look underneath and saw that the magnet had come loose and the positive electrical connection got sucked into the pulley which ripped the ground out of the magnet. Spent the whole next day taking off the brand new part I had just bought so I could get the old one back on. While I was putting the new one on, I was struggling getting the inner snap ring on with the awful snap ring pliers I bought, so I decided to a couple trial runs with the magnet off. Tried both the stock and purchased snap ring and came to find that even though they appeared to have the same inner diameter the snap ring that came in the kit fit in the groove but jiggled around and didn properly secure the magnet. If you are thinking about doing this I would say DONT. Just replace the whole compressor with the clutch. and if you decide to Go for it The anyway, dont buy this kit, and if you disregard all of this and still go with these guys save all the old snap rings and spacers cause you are gonna need them.

Retainer pliers that are 90 degrees would make job go lot faster.
Part fits perfectly only problem is with wire connection are small then original had to splice in old connection to make it fit and should get retainer clip pliers that are 90 degrees and long enough to reach in far enough to remove clips.

Nice Kit – Caution when using for 2016 3.5L
The inner diameter of the Pulley bearing was too small. Did not fit. I was only able to use the front clutch plate. Lucy for me that is all I needed.

Terrible
Part isnt correct for a 2008 Toyota Tacoma the backing plate is thicker then the original part making it so the snap ring wont seat onto the shaft. Terrible and its actually snapped the wiring as soon as it was installed. If I could give in negative five stars I would

Fits 4.0L Tacoma
2013 Tacoma 4.0l fit PERFECTLY! Tricky getting that inner snap ring on but other than that was great! Says its for the 2.7l but its the same compressor and same part number! Hopefully lasts. Time will tell

Correct parts

Not worth it
Bad wiring connections, they were too small. Absolutely not OEM like they claim. It did not work.

Fixed intermittent ON/OFF problem
Pretty easy for the mechanically inclined, straight forward. After you get the front piece off theres a retaining clip you need to remove, then after the pulley another one. Remove the wiring and work backwards with new parts. Getting that first piece on make sure you have 0.3mm-0.6mm gap between the plate and the pulley with the provided washer shims. After that youre good to go!
5 stars for quality and ease of install.

Installed in 2006 Tacoma 4.0, initial review
This kit I am comparing to the OEM kit. It is not built as robust as OEM. Thinner metal and slightly different tolerances. This kit was 1/3 the price so I purchased this as I could also no longer find the OEM kit with the NSK Mexico bearing.
After research it seems to be a better manufacturer than others that dont actually put their name on their bearings.
The center bolt takes a #8 star socket so be aware. I think I prefer a #8 star to the 10mm bolt used on the other kit. Dont lose the old spacer washers as I used 6 washers total to give me a 5.5mm clearance between clutch and pulley. This kit includes 3 which would not have worked. I had 5 from the last kit but somehow 2 just disappeared during this install. The driveway gets hungry and eats small parts I guess.
Install time for just the pulley and clutch should be 1 hour. I replaced the magnet also which now turned it into a 3 hour job for me. Getting at the inner C-clip securing the old magnet was an ordeal. I have a really nice 4 piece C-clip plier set which helped. I used the new C-clips which were not as thick as the original. Re-installing took twice as long due to working space. I couldnt get the heavier duty original C-clips back on so I used the new thinner supplied C-clips.
Then came the battery and ground connections. I had to replace the positive magnet connector. I cut off the old and new connectors and slid the new wire through the factory water proof rubber boot. The supplied positive male connector was too small anyway to make a good contact with the factory female connector. Luckily I had an 18 gauge male connector that worked which was crimped and soldered on the 18 gauge wire. Getting the old ground connection off and new back on took a while. A tiny 8mm bolt and plate had to be dealt with. Glad I had a ratcheting 8mm wrench. Getting the positive connector to seat was another ordeal. I had to disconnect the AC compressor connector to give more slack to make this connection. Since this connection is so low to the ground for a 4X4 truck it needs to be water tight. I recommend cutting off the supplied positive connector and using the factory water proof boot. Match the new male end to the original as best as possible to make a good connection.
Once I was done I tested the AC and it was silent engaging the clutch as well as disengaging.
Im somewhat handy doing this type of work and rate just the clutch replacement at a 3 out of 10 difficulty. Replacing the magnet takes it up to a 6.
