Design Flaw
The Part you put on the springs is upside down, and another 1/2 inch of clearance wouldn’t hurt either. They machined one side to fit the springs real nice, and they put the dimple part that the bolt presses against, on the same side, it should be on the other side, i just let it make it’s own spot to press against. I pulled off the stock springs to put springs with more lift capability, and tool as designed did not work, I had to put several washers under tool to get it up high enough, It did get the job done though, but I think they should have done a little more R&D on tool. I don’t think the Aluminum body will pass the longevity test either. I wish I would have payed a little more and got the Comp one.

Worked well, but definitely need a deep well 24MM (OR 15/16″) socket to make it easier. AND GREASE THE THREADS to keep it smooth when turning under pressure.
Could probably get the same set up at a local hardware, but this kit takes guesswork out of it. The hex end makes it easy to keep crank from spinning while tightening with open end wrench

Improved design is value added! Worked for LS1
I used this to install a harmonic dampener on my LS1. I used a thrust bearing instead of the included zinc plated flat washers. Also used a liberal amount of anti seize on the threads that went into the crankshaft snout and on the threads the driving nut follow, to prevent galling. Tool worked great! The improvements they made since the previous version helped with removing the threaded rod from the crank shaft!

This definitely gets the job done. I liked the option of the hex at the end for removing the screw from the crank but its not really needed as it came out by hand when I used it. If I could have used an open end wrench in my application it would have been very nice for holding the screw to keep the engine from turning while using the tool so I do like having it. With it the bolt is a bit longer than is needed as my deep socket bottomed out during install just before it pulled the pulley all the way on even using both washers.

I have a stack of other washers I have used in the past with a bolt so I just added a few more which I like better than it being shorter since I will also be using it to install thicker SFI approved balancers which will need the extra length but be prepared. Definitely better than using a long bolt or trying to use your original torque to yield bolt to pull on the balancer which puts more strain on the threads in the crank which is not something you want to have to replace. This design puts the wear on this inexpensive and easily replaced tool and it allows you to put a little high pressure grease under the nut and on the washer surfaces so it turns smooth it goes on like butter. I like the oversized nut with a shoulder, very good quality and an upgrade over other options I have seen. Overall great piece of kit and definitely worth the purchase to have the peace of mind that your threads will stay intact. You might want to have a few extra washers or a thrust bearing to go with it but those are optional.

This worked perfectly for GM LS motor. Appears well made. I liked the idea of the deep flange nut and the hex nut end for removal. Its not just a piece of threaded rod.

Worth it
Easily able to reinstall the harmonic balancer on my 2001 Silverado after a cam swap. Worth the price for the peace of mind of not worrying about stripping out the threads in the crank.

Need Large 24 wrench or extra long socket
This thing should come with its own custom EXTRA LONG socket!! Was able to get the job done with a 24mm wrench only. No standard long sockets will work for this. Im not sure if theres any socket you could buy thatll actually be long enough to stay on the bolt head while youre cranking it down. Besides that add grease between surfaces and it worked great.

Low quality.
The threaded rod had a twist in it preventing it going correctly into the crank end snout. Tool is useless in the way I received it.

Have only used this twice so far on my Chevy 5.3. It worked great both times. I can see how it may not last with extended use, but any bolt and nut that continually gets torqued to the max will give out due to the stress on the metal. Fortunately, it is affordable enough to buy again and still saves you money.

Doesnt fit Sierra 1500
This product doesnt fit a 2006 Sierra 1500 as per the make sure it fits. Its too big. The price was good but unfortunately, for this truck, it doesnt fit.

Bent bolt. Buyer beware.
Bolt was bent and almost ruined my crankshaft. I didnt realize there was a slight bend until I removed the bolt from my crank. Bolt wobbled around in crank, and started pulling threads. If you order this, CHECK THE BOLT BEFORE INSTALL. Im beyond pissed off.

Defective
This product was completely useless due to it being bent slightly. This product appeared to be defective from factory. If one had tried to use it, it would have destroyed the threads in the end of the crank.

Does not fit 5.7 chevrolet vortec crank
I could not use it. Way too big for crankshaft balancer hole.

Check threads first!
Easy to use idea, only issue was threads were damaged and main bolt was bent! Im sure this didnt happen during shipping as there was no damage to packaging. I cleaned up the threads after about an hours worth of thread filing and was able to install harmonic balancer. Good for 1 use damaged

Nice set up. It worked great on my 06 5.3 Silverado. Put some lubrication on the stud before using. Beats paying $40 and up for a different set up that I dont need for my vehicle.

Threads were damaged.
Threads were a damaged so I had to install the tool backwards in to the crank for it to thread in. Besides for that it worked. Then I had to use vise grips to loosen the bolt to get it out.

Threads were galled right out of the box on this. Had to flip it around and use the other side. Not impressed for the price. It also had a very slight bend in it. Theres no way this is a 10.9 threaded rod.

LS engine Crankshaft
This tool utilized a risk proof method. The threads were clean and the bushings are new. In contrast from the unconventional mock out ¡°Crankshaft-Bolt¡± Technique.

Well worth the money!
In the past I use to use a block of wood and a hammer to install the crankshaft pulley, but I didnt want to do this method with my 2010 GMC 1500. I had seen this tool and after reading the reviews I had ordered it. It was easy to use. I had coated all friction surfaces with grease before use. It was definitely worth the money spent.

Used this harmonic balancer pulley install tool ONE time and the nut became seized to the threaded rod. This thing didnt get the pulley installed fully. I had to use the old bolt to get the pulley seated. This tool is JUNK. I would not recommend to anyone even if they like wasting money. This thing wasted my time, energy and money. 10/10 would NOT recommended. And Im past the return date so Im not expecting a refund although it would be nice since this tool failed to complete the job I purchased it for.
